Full Description:
Our clients are an integrated biopharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing and marketing oncology and critical care products. They are an FDA and MHRA licensed manufacturing facility and a permanent vacancy currently exists for the above role.

Outline of role:
Accountable to the QC Manager and leading a team of 8, you will be required to supervise the functions of the Quality Control Analytical (QCA) Routine section to ensure the timely generation of valid test results for the purpose of controlled product manufacture. To coordinate the company stability program.


Principal Responsibilities:

• To supervise sampling and testing of raw materials, process intermediates, finished products, and stability samples, such that valid results are generated in a timely manner.
• To supervise the QC Raw Materials Control section to ensure the timely release of compliant raw materials and consumables to the Production department.
• To coordinate the company stability program. This will require the set-up of stability studies in accordance with regulatory and project management requirements, ongoing management of stability studies and the collation review and reporting of stability data.
• To supervise the work, training and progression of staff within the QCA department.
• To coordinate the testing of samples by external contract laboratories.
• To ensure that QCA activities follow standard operating procedures and are performed in compliance with GMP.
• To supervise the investigation of out of specification results and incidents / deviations and to supervise and participate in the completion of any actions arising.

Candidate requirements

• Relevant higher education qualification e.g. Degree, Higher National Certificate / Diploma.
• Extensive and proven experience in a similar laboratory environment.
• Strong, demonstrable leadership and management skills.
• Computer literate.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines within tight timeframes and with minimal supervision.
• Enthusiastic, helpful, motivated, reliable and professional with a “can do” attitude.
