| Our client is a highly successful international first tier automotive supplier with a state of the art manufacturing and research and development centre. They are seeking 2 Project Engineers and will consider a range of candidates from new Graduates up to Senior Engineers. Main Duties • Primary link between the customer and the development team. Identify and communicate all customer and legal requirements of the project as design inputs. • Ensure the functional, durability and performance parameters of the product meet both the project and customer expectations. • Ensure development project costs are kept within budget. • Support the RFQ process as required. • Involved in the generation and implementation of cost down ideas • This role may include periods of overseas travel and work placements. • Manage the development process / procedures and the CIPPS philosophy including the following key items: ~ - Managing the prototype build requirements - Manage the verification and validation test requirements - Lead the DFMEA - Lead the customer project and design reviews Candidate requirements • An engineering degree or HNC as a minimum (including modules thermodynamics and fluid mechanics) is essential • French language capability would be advantageous. • At least 2 years experience in managing customer design projects within the automotive industry. • Experience in APQP and operating within a quality system. • A good working knowledge of vehicle thermal management systems. • Experience in managing prototype and test programmes. • Able to demonstrate commercial awareness. • Flexible approach to meet project milestones, customer requests and divisional targets. |
