Job Description

It is essential you have experience selling in the temporary accommodations. i.e portkabins industry. Hiring them out on contracts etc, or at least experience in the sales and hiring of plant machinery.

Responsibilities

  • €¢ Reports to the Depot Manager

  • €¢ To be based at the depot

  • €¢ To be jointly responsible with the Depot Managers for achieving the Hire Turnover/Total Turnover budgets for the depot

  • €¢ To research regional accounts with significant potential spend with the aim of winning new business at acceptable rates of return on capital

  • €¢ To ensure ancillary charges are maximised

  • €¢ To have regular contact with key decision makers, visit customer sites and promote new and existing products

  • €¢ To carry out site surveys as and when required

  • €¢ To maintain customer records

  • €¢ To plan appointments two weeks in advance

  • €¢ To spend a minimum of 80% of the working week in the field

  • €¢ To plan between 4 and 8 customer visits per day

  • €¢ To accompany Depot Managers on visits to customers as and when required.

  • €¢ To prepare and deliver presentations and tender responses to significant regional account customers

  • €¢ To cold call on potential new clients as and when required

  • €¢ To organise and attend clients events (which may fall outside normal working hours)

  • €¢ To open new accounts

  • €¢ To assist in ensuring clients adhere to credit limits and resolve account queries

  • €¢ To attend regular meetings with the Regional Manager and the Depot Managers within the region

Reporting

  • €¢ Complete a weekly Itinerary detailing appointments for the following week to be reported to the Depot Manager by close of business on a Friday

  • €¢ Complete a Daily Sales Activity Report which is reported to the Depot Manager by the end of each week

  • €¢ Ensure expenses are accurately reported and supported with VAT receipts

  • €¢ Ensure mileage returns are reported to payroll in a timely fashion

  • €¢ Complete customer satisfaction surveys as and when required

  • €¢ To ensure orders received directly from clients are passed with all the relevant details to the supplying depot in a timely fashion

This job specification is not all encompassing, the employee will be required to carry out other duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organisation.
